Consent language
This is the exact wording shown beside the consent checkbox at every opt-in point. The checkbox is a standalone control, separate from any terms-of-service acceptance, and is unchecked by default.
By checking this box and giving my number, I agree to receive recurring automated text messages from Gig Scout (The Work App, LLC) about jobs, resources, and related content. Consent is not required to apply. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help. Terms: trygigscout.com/terms Privacy: trygigscout.com/privacy
Consent version v2.2. Consent records are append-only: each one stores the full wording shown at the time, its version, a timestamp, the IP address and the user agent.
How people opt in
There are two opt-in points, both public and both web forms. There is no keyword, paper, verbal, or QR opt-in, and we never add a number that did not come through one of these.
- Subscription form — at trygigscout.com, a visitor enters a first name and mobile number and ticks the consent box. That form subscribes to the messaging program only: it creates no account and gates no other service.
- Job page— on a job page, choosing “Continue to apply” opens a panel with a first name field, a mobile number field, and the same consent box, unchecked. Left unchecked, the button reads “Continue to apply” and the visitor goes straight to the employer’s application site: no number stored, no consent recorded, no message sent. The application completes either way.
Consent is never required to use Gig Scout and is not tied to any purchase, account, or service.

Stopping messages
Replying STOP (or STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT, REVOKE) ends messages immediately and permanently. The suppression is enforced at send time, so it applies to every message type, not just marketing. Replying START resumes them.
Scout is an automated assistant, not a live person, and is not for emergencies — in a crisis call 988 or 911.
